About the Role

Employment Type: Part-time (15-20 hours/week)
 
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resource Generalist to support our small business clients in optimizing their HR operations. You will collaborate with our team to develop and implement compliant policies and practices, deliver effective and streamlined recruiting services, and provide guidance on essential people strategies. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, is self-motivated and self-directed, enjoys working with diverse industries, and is passionate about helping small businesses grow through smart HR solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR Pro team to develop, implement, and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures tailored to client needs and compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance on employment law, regulatory compliance, and HR best practices (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC).
  • Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies. Managing the full-cycle recruitment process including defining client hiring needs; creating job descriptions; sourcing and screening candidates; coordinating and participating in in-person interviews at client sites; facilitating offers, orientation and on-boarding.
  • Conduct HR audits and provide actionable improvement plans.
  • Assist clients with setting up and maintaining payroll systems. Manage payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Administer employee benefits programs for clients.
  • Offer strategic input on organizational design, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
  • Advise on compensation, benefits administration, and HRIS recommendations suitable for small businesses.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field     (Master’s or HR certifications a plus – e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP).
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practice in the U.S. (multi-state an international experience a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient computer and HRIS systems experience and knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Suites, ADP, Paylocity, Paychex, etc.)
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working closely with an internal team.
  • Experience supporting small businesses or startups is highly desirable

 

Compensation

$50/hr
